TRAVEL THE WORLD - CHATEAU DE CHAMBORD, FRANCE
When we visited the Loire Valley in 1997, we didn't have time to go inside this chateau, but admired it very much from a distance. It is what first comes to mind when you think of the chateaux of the Loire Valley because of its beautiful and unusual design and the frequency of its being photographed.

The building, which was never completed, was constructed by King François I in part to be near to his mistress the Comtesse de Thoury, Claude Rohan, wife of Julien de Clermont, a member of a very important family of France, whose domaine, the château de Muides, was adjacent.
