With the Hudson River on our right, we had an enjoyable stroll beside Battery Park in 1998. The fog created a cozy atmosphere. We were especially interested in Battery Park City, because of our association with architects who had designed an important part of it.

TRAVEL THE WORLD - NEW YORK CITY


I can still remember vividly seeing the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street for the first time in 1998. This is the heart of the financial district and the facade of the building seemed a perfect symbol of its power. Unfortunately, as I post this blog in 2009 in the middle of a very serious recession, it must be acknowledged that Wall Street's image has suffered due to the recent antics of its major players and the near collapse of America's financial system.
