TRAVEL THE WORLD - MONTPELLIER, FRANCE

Montpellier and Bois are my two favourite small cities in France. Montpellier is a very old city with a famous university. The photo is of the Place de la Comedie, the main square in the city centre. There is also a charming old city, but what impressed us most was the quality of the new commercial development which is superb.

TRAVEL THE WORLD - MONTPELLIER, FRANCE

In 1999 we visited Montpellier in France. It is one of the most attractive cities we have seen. There is an old medieval city which is very nice, but what impressed us most was the new development. The buildings, as you can see from the two photos of the Antigone Commercial Centre, are very stylish but what made Montpellier special for us was the attention that had been given to urban design.

TRAVEL THE WORLD - MONTPELLIER, FRANCE

I love the way the light shines through the openings in the Roman aqueduct at Montpellier, photographed in 1999. Montpellier is one of my favourite places in France. It has a world renowned medical school, the most beautiful modern buildings you will ever see, a very interesting old medieval quarter, and of course this beautiful ancient aqueduct. What more could you ask?
