These spotted deer were photographed in 2007 while on safari at Gir Forest National Park near Ahmedabad. The park is home to a small number of Asian lions, which, unfortunately did not appear on our safari. We did, however, see monkeys, birds and two or species of deer. We went out before dawn and again in the late afternoon. The first photo was taken in the early morning, the second in the afternoon.
